| TRACK DEPARTMENT:
Literally the foundation of the organization. Work as part of a crew
to repair and maintain the track. This is a continual process. Work under
the supervision of the Track Supervisor. Training is OJT.
MECHANICAL DEPARTMENT: Repair,
maintain and restore the locomotive and cars. Skills such as welding,
woodworking and diesel repair are very helpful in this area, but on the
other hand, anyone can scrape old paint and pound nails. Work as
part of a team under the Mechanical Supervisor.

STATION MASTER: In charge of the
station. Responsible for the safety of passengers and public at the
station. Also supervises ticket sales.
DOCENT: A fancy name for tour guide.
Assist passengers and the public both on the train and at the station.
Learn and talk about the history of the railroad and North Clark County.
Also responsible for passenger safety. Must be able to talk to groups of
people.
CLERICAL: Answer phones, take
reservations, file.
VOLUNTEER SERVICES: Maintain contact
with volunteers, maintain schedules of railroad activities and organize
work parties for railroad projects
FOOD SERVICE AND GIFT SHOP SALES:
Serve at the gift shop and refreshment areas.
RESEARCHER: Look for historical
information about the rail lines that served the area and the history of
North Clark County
OTHER: We don't know what
"other" is, but we won't turn away a good volunteer. |
